Game rules

• Deal a grid of letters by choosing a board size, a difficulty and a timer, then press Start Game.
• Build words by connecting letters that touch each other — horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
• Every tile may be used only once per word.
• Each word must be at least the minimum length for the chosen difficulty (shown above the Start button).
• Valid words are added to the Found Words list and score points. Invalid, too short or repeated words are rejected.
• The game ends when the timer runs out or when you press End Game. A full summary is shown with words found and words missed.

Difficulty modes

Letter connection guide

• A connection is legal when the next tile is one of the 8 neighbours of the current tile.
• The golden line drawn over the grid is your live word path — it shows the exact order of letters.
• Drag backwards onto the previous tile to remove the last letter.
• Tap tiles one by one on touch screens; tap the last tile again to undo.

Valid word rules

• The word must exist in the built-in English dictionary.
• Proper nouns, hyphenated words and abbreviations are not accepted.
• A word already found cannot be submitted twice — duplicates are rejected.
• You can also type a word in the input field; it is accepted only if a legal path exists on the grid.

Board navigation guide

• Rotate Board turns the whole grid 90° clockwise. Your current selection is preserved and remapped.
• Clear Selection empties the current word path.
• Rotating does not change which words exist on the board — only where the letters sit.

Scoring guide

Each accepted word is worth (letter score + length score) × difficulty multiplier.

Level progress

• Your total score drives the level bar: level 2 at 120, level 3 at 360, level 4 at 720, level 5 at 1200.
• Words found with a hint award half points and are marked with a small dot.
• Best score is stored per board size and difficulty on this device.

Timer rules

• No Time Limit — the ring counts upwards so you can play a relaxed puzzle.
• 3:00 / 5:00 / 10:00 — preset countdowns.
• Custom Timer — set any value from 1 to 60 minutes with the stepper.
• The ring around the clock drains as time passes and turns amber under 30 seconds, red under 10.
• Pause Game freezes the clock and hides the grid so nobody can peek.
• Leaving the browser tab during a timed game pauses it automatically.
• When the clock reaches zero the game ends and the summary opens.

Hint guide

• Press Hint to reveal one word that is still on the board and not yet found.
• The word and its full path flash on the grid for a few seconds.
• You still have to trace or type it yourself to bank the points.
• Words banked after being hinted are worth half points and are marked in the list.
• The hint counter shows how many remain: Easy 5, Hard 3, Extreme 1.
• Restarting or dealing a new puzzle restores your hints.
